How to use get/be used to. Could you tell me the difference of the meaning between ; I got used to the custom here. and I was used to the custom here. I think "got used to" is the similar meaning of "had used to". Is it correct? Please give me some exsamples of these phrases.

Hi Reiko! "To be/get used to" means to "become familiar with" or "accustomed to" something. Here are a few examples: "I was so used to having my dog around that when I left him for the first time, I felt lonely." "We are used to the teacher being strict; that's why no one dares to misbehave in her class." "People who live in Tokyo are used to life in the city, so we cannot expect them to know how to do farm work." I hope these help. Please let me know if you still have questions =)
