Will English native speaker say 'sample local food' in essay
I want to express the idea that you should try local food when you are traveling in a foreign country.
Is 'sample local food' right? If not, is there any better expression?

You could also use 'taste the local food', 'familiarize yourself with the local fare/food' or even 'partake in the local food' as additional choices.
