- conference = a gathering of people to exchange (confer) ideas and/or discuss specific topics.
- convention = an event where people and organizations gather together(convene) for an agenda, like showing solidarity, promoting a cause, etc.
- session = an organized meeting or a similar gathering of people in which technical or business activities take place to a set schedule. Conferences and conventions may have many sessions as part of their agenda.
