The Hangul alphabet contains just 24 letters and 27 digraphs. The actual letters are broken down into 14 consonants and 10 vowels.
Chinese has tens of thousands of different characters, however, compared to Korean, Chinese is not a phonetic language. This means that the same pronunciation can have numerous corresponding characters.
I learn Chinese, I would say to stick to Korean. I have friends who have learned both languages and say Korean is much easier.
