"Walking the course" is one of the most important elements of any show jumping competition, it's the time when as a rider you get to enter the arena on foot and walk around the course, taking everything in through both your eyes and your horse’s eyes and getting familiar with any possible distractions and entry and exit points. Walking the course includes striding out how you will ride that course.
