What is the difference between habiter and vivre?
When should I say j'habite, tu habite....etc. and when should I say Je vis, tu vis....etc.?
Does it even matter? Please let me know.

In my opinion / À mon avis,
habiter = to live at a particular address, or somewhere in a city/country, etc.
vivre = to live in general

I agree with Mitong.
Just one correction:
J'habite, tu habites (you forgot to put an S)......il habite, nous habitons, vous habitez, ils habitent,
