first of all, differentiate between "ser" and "estar". What you mean exactly? probably you want to say something like "i'm unhappy with that happening to you" then "estoy descontento/a con lo que te pasa" althought this is a very forced translation. feliz and infeliz is true they don't form a pair. if my suposition is true, in this case you'll use "me apena que..." .if you are constantly unhappy you say "no estoy contento/a con..." but more information is needed to know exactly what you mean.

Es que infeliz en España es ingenuo, naive, alguien a quien se engaña fácilmente. Vamos, que lo contrario de feliz no es infeliz, aunque el diccionario dice que sí. Creo que desdichado es más adecuado para alguien que no es feliz. Pero los desdichados suelen estar tristes así que no le falta razón a Patricia.
