여의주 is a kind of mysterious ball or orb which is supposed to have a supernatural power for the person who has it.
It appears in old fantasy novels or children's stories. It may be translated as "dragon orb" or "dragon ball" as you said.
As far as I know, it is not a popular word, so 여의주 들고 있으면서 would sound strange except in fantasy stories or cartoons.
