The difference between 真 vs. 非常 --- Present vs. Past Hi, I understand that both 真 and 非常 mean "very" but I wanted to get a confirmation that I understand them correctly. If I go see a movie with a group of friends and one of them asks me **AFTER** the movie, "今天的电影怎么样?" *Question: Is it true that I **cannot** say 真有意思 because the movie is already over? I was taught that, in this case, because we've already finished watching the movie, I **have** to say 非常有意思 or 特别有意思. I can only say 真有意思 in the middle of the movie, when it's still playing. Is this true? Thank you.

I don't agree with that. You can say both of them "真有意思"and "非常有意思",even after the movie. For example : “这节课非常有意思”,“这节课真有意思”,they have the same meaning。 but “真”表示主观判断(subjective judgment),like: “我们明天放假了。” “真好,好羡慕你们!”,you can't say "非常好,好羡慕你们!”
