What are the differences between "viel" & "sehr" ?

I agree with the answer above, just adding: Basically you use "viel/viele" (=a lot of / many) before nouns and "sehr" (=very) before adjectives.

If I translate the two words "viele" a lot of, and "sehr" very... Same examples : Ich kenne viele Menschen. Ich esse viele Brötchen. Ich bin sehr müde. Das Haus ist sehr groß.
