Create or develop
Hi everyone,
Could you tell me the difference between create and develop?
In my understanding:
If I say I "create" something, it sounds like I make something creative.
If I say I "develop" something, it sounds like I make something from scratch.
I often use the words create and develop for my job of website development service, and I'd like to make sure I'm using the words correctly.
Thank you for your time! :)

From my understanding, I usually use the word create when I create something from scratch. Develop is more like to improve, build (ie develop leadership skills) This is based on my simple point of view, I hope someone more knowledgeable can elaborate more on both of these words usage

Hi Rio,
I'd say that your definitions are the opposite of what they should be-
To create something means to make something from scratch- if you create a new product (or website) you invent or design it. The thing you create doesn't have to be "creative" in the sense of artistic, innovative or whatever. I create grammar exercises for my students, for example.
To develop means to make something that already exists bigger, better, etc. You can develop your language skills, develop an idea so it becomes more complex, detailed etc
The word develop can also be used in industry to talk about new products- E.g- If someone develops a new product, they design it and produce it
I am not a website developer, and I know that the word develop may be used differently in your industry, but these are the general definitions. I hope that helps
