How is correct "a large assortment" or "a big assortment"?

Both are correct in my opinion. When talking about the size, amount or extent of something, big and large are generally synonyms. But “big” and “large” are not always interchangeable. Here are some examples where you can’t use “large” instead of “big”: He's a big eater. [=he often eats large amounts of food] I'm a big fan of their music. She became a big star in movies.
