English(help, please...) Hi, there Could you help me? 1) Do you use "not..nor" or "neither..nor"? I've seen sentences with both structures. Should I use not or neither in these sentences? "Nothing else matters: NOT/NEITHER, nor my job, nor anything" "NOT/NEITHER with all the remedies in the world, nor with all the cosmetics will these wrinkles ever go away" 2) Would you use "it" in these sentences? "One year ago today it was/was my first time at this job" "Next Friday will/it will be one year since we returned" Thank you!!!

OK to my ears, but very formal: "Nothing else matters: Neither my job, nor anything." OK, informal: "Nothing else matters: Not my job, not anything." OK: "Neither with all the remedies in the world, nor with all the cosmetics, will these wrinkles ever go away" OK: "Not with all the remedies in the world, nor with all the cosmetics, will these wrinkles ever go away" How I would more likely say this as a native speaker (informal speech): "Not with all the remedies or cosmetics in the world, will these wrinkles ever go away" Textbooks would not pair "not" with "or", but "nor" is pretty formal and you don't hear it much in casual speech.

1) Use not in those sentences. Using neither suggests only 2 options. 2) No need to use "it" in these sentences
