what does this sentence mean ? j'ai tout a coup une foule de souvenir

I suddenly have a flood of memories (literally: crowd of memories). "souvenirs" - plural. There is an English expression: "It's all coming back to me." I am not 100% sure if this translates this French expression well. I am an intermediate French speaker, not an advanced one.
