Ser Vardis might have been more comfortable with his own sword.
The engraved silver blade was beautiful beyond a doubt, but it seemed to Catelyn that Ser Vardis _might have been_ more comfortable with his own sword.
Hi. Does the underlined part imply "if Ser Vardis had used his own sword (but he didn't), he might have been more comfortable with it (not fulfilled)"?
Thank you.

Hi,
Yes, it implies that he would have been more comfortable with his own sword, but we don't know why. It could be because of status, comfort, or numerous other reasons.
