what's the difference between 드라이브하다 and 운전하다?

They're simmilar, but normally "운전하다" is used.
"드라이브하다" means normally to drive away fast along the wide road for fun/excitement, especially taking a highway.
So, if someone uses "드라이브하다," then he is likely to mean to drive on a highway or somewhere like that for fun.
