Meaning of the song
I like to listen English (usually US) music. But it's not so easy to catch every word and understand hole meaning of song. But "The Factory Gates" by Kaiser Chiefs was especially difficult to understand. What this lines mean:
They tell you day after day
To make your way through the factory gates
What you make on the factory floor
You take straight to the company store
I know "the factory gates" is metaphor. But for what?

Well, large factories used to be fenced in with large steel gates (to limit theft) but most offices now might just have a few secure doors. So for many people not a metaphor at all
