Why is "lazy" used here instead of "lazily"? it looked friendly, even homey, with its whitewashed upper story and slate roof and the smoke curling up lazy from its chimney. (Game of Thrones) Hi. Why is "lazy" used here instead of "lazily"? Thank you.

I think you have been told several times that Martin deliberately stylises his writing, to make it seem folksy and quaint. This is yet another example.
