what does it mean ''There's precious little going on'' in this sentence:
as you quickly realise when you step inside the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, There's precious little going on that you would normally see on a university campus.

As Merlyn said, precious = very in this context.
'going on' = happening.
So - there is very little happening...
So - the whole thing is 'there is very little happening that you would normally see', or in other words 'things that you can see happening here are different to what happens at most universities'.
