Would you tell me the meaning of this sentence in simple English?
"She had got herself into trouble now with a vengeance! "

"She has got herself into trouble now with a vengeance!"
(ただ一つの動作があるげれど、大過去のことは必要がないんです。そして「now (今)」の時間副詞を用いるので、大過去のことは不適切です。)
--> 仇討ちなので、彼女は今揉め事に巻き込まれる。

I don’t think that’s correct English. I’ve never heard to „get into trouble with a vengeance.“ it sounds weird to me, and wrong.
