It is very difficult to explain about those words, because we use those words in a case, - how much we understand description in some documents, - how much we understand what people say talk to us and so on. In my feeling, the precedence of degree about those words is “よく > あまり > いまいち(“いまいち” is used in oral communication. In literary we write down “いまひとつ”), if we use those words with denial verbose. So, I use “よく～しない” if I don’t understand or do anything almostly. And, use “あまり～しない” for a half of all. Then, use “いまいち～しない” for a little. Ex. 彼は、私のいったことをよく理解していないようだ。 その本の内容は、あまり理解できなかった。 今日の食事（の味）は、いまひとつおいしくなかった。
