What does the sentence mean?
Eg: 지 영 씨가 사진을 많이 찍어서 보여 달라고 했지요?

A가 B에게 V+ 아/어/여 달라고 하다 means "A request B to do something"
지영 씨가 사진을 많이 찍어서 보여 달라고 했지요?
Did Jiyoung request you to take many pictures and show them to her?
*아/어/여 달라 is imperative form of "아/어/여 달다".
달다 means "to request the listener to give something to the speaker"
달다 is used always as imperative form 달라 or 다오
For example,
그 책을 나에게 다오
V+아/어/여 달다 means "to request the listener to do something for the speaker"
-고 하다 is used for indirect quotation.
달다 is closely connected with 주다
아이: 엄마, 책 사 줘!
Child: Mom, please buy a book for me!
=아이가 엄마한테 "책 사 줘!"라고 말했다,
=Child told to his mom, "please buy a book for me!"
=아이가 엄마한테 책을 사 달라고 말했다.
=Child requested his mom to buy a book for him.
