turnin' up is slang for a younger audience, so older generations much understand, either. it's a way of self motivating oneself. It means to elevate oneself to get more excited about livin' and prospering. It comes from older slang phrases: "Turn up the heat" or "Turn up the volume" and "pump it up". Urban dictionary is a good resource for slang.
