Do you mean variety or various? Variety is a generally a noun and various is an adjective. There is a variety of options; There are various options There are a variety of cars on the road; There are various cars on the road.

"variety" is a noun. So to discuss fruit at supermarket, for example, you would say. "There is a variety of fruits here." And we often say "There is a WIDE variety of fruits here." But "various" is an adjective, it always comes before a noun. "There are various fruits here."
