"She has a close relationship with him."
Formal, word-for-word translation would be: 그녀는 그와 긴밀한 관계를 가지고 있다 (has=가지고 있다, close=긴밀한, relationship=관계). But this sounds a little unnatural, especially the 가지고 있다 part.
We are more likely to say (especially in conversation):
- 그 여자는 그 남자와 가까운 사이(이)다. (그 사람 may be substituted for 그 남자, and 하고 or 랑 for 와)
- 그 여자는 그 남자와 가깝다. ("She's close to him")
* 사이 is the informal word for "relationship" (관계).
* 가까운 and 긴밀한 both mean "close", but the former is much more common.
* 그, 그녀 are formal sounding personal pronouns used in writing. 그 여자, 그 남자, and 그 사람 are common, all-around ones.
