Which one of the question sentence is correct? they did wrong or they are wrong?

They are both correct but different in meaning. "They did wrong" = they committed an immoral act, they did something that is not right and acceptable "They are wrong" = their opinions about something is not correct So it depends on the context to use one of these sentences. I hope this helps :)
