There's no verb for "to hope." The alternative is "omidvâr budan," literally, "to be hopeful". Though, "to be hopeful" is usually expressed with "omid dâshtan," literally, "to have hope."
- Omidvâr budim [ke] be moghe' beresim. (We were hoping we'd make it in time.)
- Omid dârim [ke] be moghe' beresim. (We're hopeful we'll make it in time.)

امید داشتن
امیدوار بودن
The two given translations are both correct. However, you should pay attention to tense and change it appropriately.
من امیدوارم روزی برسه که همه در کنار هم بدون تعصب زندگی کنند.
I hope a day comes that everyone lives without prejudice.

Omidvar boodan is the equivalent of to hope.
Example: man omidvaram ke emtahan ro ghabool besham. (I hope to pass the exam.)
Hope it helps ;)
