How to translate 给 [ gei ] ?
Hello, everyone
I´m a little bit confused about the word 给 [ gei ]
I tought it has the meaning “to give” for example
我给你…元
I give you … RMB
But now i´m asking myself ,...
If this is correct ? i think you can use给 in other context,...
给你看Take a look !
给我看吧Can I take a look ?
So my Questions is,
does给 mean give, take, both or something else ?

i check some dictionaries.in our chinese language,gei is similar to take,have,make and do.thay can have more meaning in different contest.
you are correct.but you will imagine for gei in chinese language situation.wish you can use this word more.
i know Gei mean as below:

You don't have to translate words directly. I mean, just look at English.
Take a look. Do you actually "take" a "look"? Is take in this sense the same as "Take my suitcase."? Be more open to the interpretation of a word. Another example with take: "Take a picture." That can mean two things depending on how you interpretate 'take'. It can either mean that you actually take a photograph with a camera or it can mean that you grab a photograph from somewhere. When it's on the table for example, you can take/grab it off the table.
Anyway, back to the Chinese stuff. Using the same reasoning we applied to English we could argue that:
给你看 - Give you look. - You can sort of interpretate it as "Give yourself a look [at it]".
Actually, I think it's easier when you loosen up a bit about the way words are used. It actually sort of shows the culture as well if you try to think about the way they use certain constructions.

“给”有很多的意思， 的确是要根据情况来区分，
上面的朋友给出的解释很全面了。“给予”中读
ji, 也是 to give的意思，不过比较书面，严谨一些。
