What does '청소' mean? What is it? I've seen that it means 'cleaning', so it's already conjugated? Or could it be a verb stem? The same goes with '공부' [studying], I'm not sure what they are. Thanks!

A lot of verbs with '-하다' are the predicate (object of the sentence + object marker + 하다) of the sentence such as: 청소하다(clean)=청소(cleaning)를 하다(do), 공부하다(study)=공부를 하다, 운동하다(exercise)=운동을 하다, 여행하다(travel)=여행을 하다

청소 is a noun. 하다 is a verb. 청소하다 is a verb.

To explain in simpler terms: It (청소) is a noun. You add 하다 to make it a verb (청소하다).
