Зелень - это трава и листья: салат, шпинат, зеленый лук, укроп, петрушка, базилик и так далее. Овощи - это плоды и корнеплоды: помидоры, огурцы, морковь, свекла и так далее.

Основное значение уже сказали. Вторичное значение: "зелень" - долары "овощ" - человек, потерявший способность мыслить Приятного аппетита и зелени по потребности.

Here's a bit of weir slang to you: Green-back may be зелень, but some овощи (only капуста) may be money as a whole.
