How can I understand following phrase: "Playing for keeps, don't play us for weak"?
I am trying to translate one song into Russian to understand all meaning of this lyrics.
But I have the problem with understanding this phrase.
I'll be happy if you answer my question!!!
Whole verse is here:
Some-some-some, someone said
To win the retreat, we all in too deep
P-p-playin' for keeps, don't play us for weak (someone said)
To win the retreat, we all in too deep
P-p-playin' for keeps, don't play us for weak (yeah)

In this context, "playing for keeps" means to be doing something seriously. In other words, whatever they're doing/playing something with a lot of effort. "Don't play us for weak" isn't a normal phrase that you would probably hear, but it keeps the rhythm of the song and they're saying "don't underestimate us" or "don't think that we are weak".
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
