Nere vs. nerede What is the difference? Is "nerede" "nere" + locative case ending? Can I see some examples of nere and nerede in a sentence?

"Nere" is the root of the word "where". It is grammatically incorrect to use it on its own. So, you first need to decline it! 1) Accusative Case: Nereyi? Nereyi gördünüz? (Görmek+acc. case) Where/ what places did you see? - Ankara'yı ve Eskişehir'i gördük. 2) Dative Case: Nereye? Nereye gittiniz? Where did you go?[To-towards...] - İstanbul'a gittik. 3) Locative case: Nerede? Nerede kaldınız? (kalmak+ loc. case) Where did you stay [In, at...] -Otel'de kaldık. 4) Ablative case: Nereden? Nereden ayrıldınız? (ayrılmak+ abl. case) From where did you leave/depart? - Limandan ayrıldık. In certain dialects, especially in Anatolia, you could hear people pronounce the word "nereye" as "nere" in day- to-day speech. Such as: Nere gidiyon? This is grammatically incorrect and can only be used in informal settings. The correct form would be: Nereye gidiyorsun?

NERE: Used to ask the place. Nere (Nereye) gidiyorsun? = Where are you going? Kalemimi nere (nereye) bıraktın? = Where did you leave my pen? NEREDE (NERDE): Tatilde nerede kaldın? = Where have you been on holiday? Kalemim nerede? = Where's my pen? -DE : like ...to... or ...at... ("de" is using sometimes place : "Kalemim evde" = "my pencil at home", sometimes time : "temmuzda" = "in July)

ne what -re is an archaic suffix bu + ra > bura this place şu + ra > şura this /that place nearer and physically indicated o + ra > ora that place ne + re > nere? which place? and then it is free to decline these with the positional suffixes.
