吃吃看/试试看 vs. 吃看看/试看看
Which is correct? 1 or 2 or both?
1) 吃吃看,试试看
2) 吃看看,试看看
I was taught to say the first way but I've heard people say the second form, too.
Is this simply a regional difference, personal preferences or are they actually different in meaning?
Thanks.

@Ben: I was eating at a restaurant with a couple of friends last week and swear to God, someone at another table said 吃看看. lol And yes, I like your strategy. :)

I am now curious about where you have heard people say the second usage. Languages change and sometimes are not restricted by grammatical rules, lol. However, learning the correct way is always the best strategy.

hi ''吃吃看''and''试试看''are correct, in China we usually use ''吃吃看,试试看''.And the''吃看看,试看看''is a wrong usage. It's not a personal preference
