Icelandic verbs and the cases they govern Hello everybody, I am trying to self-study the icelandic grammar and I am currently seeking for a list which tells me which verb governs which case in Icelandic. Does anyone know a more or less well-assorted list with verbs and their respective cases? Thank you in advance!

The book Colloquial Icelandic has small dictionary section. For a number of verbs it attaches the governed case. Many of its examples include this as well. Update: I've also found wiktionary.org to be good for this. For example it lists hafa as governing the accusative. It also offers some clear examples. hafa (weak verb, third-person singular past indicative hafði, supine haft) (transitive, governs the accusative) to have syn. Ég hef ekki tíma í kvöldmat. I don't have time for dinner. María hefur áhuga á stjórnmálum. Maria is interested in politics. (transitive, governs the accusative) to hold, to have syn. (transitive, governs the accusative) to keep syn. (transitive, governs the accusative) to feel syn. Hvernig hefurðu það? - Ég hef það fínt. How are you doing? - I'm fine. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/hafa#Icelandic
