What do these expressions mean?
1) "other side of Jordan"

2) "a quiet drive"

The other side of Jordan is a Biblical reference to the Israelites crossing the Jordan River to the other side. The other side being the Promised Land God had promise them.
I don't understand the second sentence, sorry.
