How many different lexemes are in this list: man, men, girl, girls, mouse: Just in case, any one know how should I count different lexemes? Here are the choices: 1)2 2)3 3)4 4)5 I know it's more like a lingustics question, but I would appreciate if any one help me

Unless it's a trick question, I'd say three. Man and men are two forms of the same lexeme, as are girl and girls. Mouse (and mice) are two forms of a third lexeme.

Three lexemes (man, man inflected for plural, girl, girl inflected for plural, mouse) girl = root morpheme (= lexical unit) girls = root morpheme + inflectional morpheme for plural -s More information here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexeme
