What is the difference, if any, between the words "helfen" and "verhelfen"? Please give me some examples.

To ensure and help someone, who seeks to achieve something, that he can get or accomplish this.
Jemandem zu seinem Recht, zum Erfolg, zu einer Anstellung, zu Geld, zur Flucht verhelfen.
jemandem zu etwas verhelfen
To help someone through active intervention, through guidance or physical assistance, through any means to reach a particular goal [faster and easier]; to be conducive to the achievement of a desired objective, the pursuit of a specific purpose or the like.
jemandem finanziell helfen (jemanden finanziell unterstützen)
Jemandem auf dem Feld, bei der Arbeit, im Haushalt helfen.
Sie hat mir in einer schwierigen Situation mit ihrem Rat geholfen.
