a synonym for 'to put aside' Hello everyone! I always use put aside as following Global warming will cause so many problems for human beings if we put aside animals and I intended to use it in this meaning: we have this problem for human beings but it also exists for other creatures too but I don't want to talk about the effects of this problem on other creatures. So what do you think? Do you think I've been using it correctly? If I've been could you name another synonym for it? because I utilize it so much so It somehow became monotonous in my speaking. Thank you in advance for paying attention and answering my question

Choosing your contexts carefully; leaving aside, besides, asides, apart from, not counting, aside from, are better options you might want to consider.

In my opinion, "if we put aside" does not fit well in that sentence. I would write "not to mention the animals" or "never mind the animals"

"Putting aside the effects that ivory poaching has had and is continuing to have on the elephant population. Human beings should also look careful at the effects (that) all of their current behaviour and practices are having on all creatures, notably the effect of global warming on the polar bears, whose habitat has been massively impacted." You can use aside you just have to rework your sentence and add some additional comparison information.
