"found that" or "found out that"? Which is correct in this context?
Hi friends,
My question is based on the following sentence. Should it be "found that" or "found out that"? Which is correct in this context?
It was found that certain documents had been handed over to the employee without obtaining their acknowledgement.
Thanks in advance!

Both are possible.
"It was found" is more formal and you'd see this in a written legal report.
"It was found out" is what you would usually see in newspaper reports OR hear in general conversation.
So, in your example if it was in the summary of a formal report, more likely you will see "it was found". Other situations it'd be "it was found out"
