What are the differences between interactions and interventions?

Interactions would be events in which two people or groups have an effect on one another. Example: "We've had many friendly interactions over the last few years."
Interventions are events in which one group or person decides to become a part of a larger event and either stop it or change it. Example: "He decided to intervene in our fight after she pulled out a gun."
