What is difference between つま and かない ? they both mean my wife. pls help~hard to decide when to use one of them... any suggestion?

つま means wife (Japanese form) かない means wife ( chinese form, kanji) Japanese try to eliminate some kanji, so つまis a new form, かない is an old form, both mean wife
