It'd be more natural to say "positive attitude" rather than "right attitude."

It doesn't seem natural to me. It is sometimes helpful to find shorter phrases. When you say "right attitude towards (his) job" you probably mean "work ethic". I suggest: "His work ethic worked magic and he became very successful."
