Optional/ compulsory
Hast du (dir) heute Morgen die Zähne geputzt?
Hast du (dir) schon die Hände gewaschen?
Is "dir" optional in such cases?

When we talk fast, we might skip the reflexive pronoun. But it is better to say it correctly (sich die Zähne putzen, sich die Hände waschen). In writing, I would consider it a mistake.
