Suffering for a lost cause...dont understand it? The US lost years and humans, not only the ones who died in Vietnam, but also the ones who came home after years of suffering for a lost cause to find themselves considered wrongdoers and brutally judged not only by the world but by their own people as well

Hi Hazem, A lost cause means something that is pointless, or something that you can’t gain anything from. So ”suffering for a lost cause” is like saying “suffering without gaining anything”, or “suffering for no good reason”. In this example, the writer is saying that the soldiers were fighting a pointless war. I hope that helps!

Hi Hazem! The fact that so many people died for no reason or they didn't get what they wanted but lost their lifes anyways, that's considered a lost cause, because it did't worth it. I hope it helps!
