THE FIRST DAY BACK
I can't understand the second part of this sentence. What does it mean - "for the first day back at school"?
My mum wants me to get my hair cut for the first day back at school.

"For the first day back at school" implies that the child has been on school vacation and will return back to school soon. At my school for instance, we had strict rules about haircuts so every holiday before school opened again my mother would take me to the barber to get my haircut before the first day back at school.
