How to use the word gastronomy Vs cuisine
Hi
I am struggling with the use of the word 'gastronomy'. In Spain we use it in sentences like:
When I travel I like to try new gastronomy of the country.
I was told ' cuisine' is better but could 'gastronomy' work any way?
Thank you

'Gastronomy' is very formal. It's not commonly used in conversation.
Example: As a chef, I collect books about wine tasting and gastronomy.
'Cuisine' is used more to describe the style of cooking.
Example: I adore Indian cuisine.

Cuisine is much more common. It's a fancy French loanword for the English word (Food/Meal).
