Professional TeacherHow to say "dog show" in Russian
I was reviewing my Russian textbook and found under one of the excercizes a channel guide based off real Russian TV shows (as confirmed by Wikipedia). One of the channals I saw was called "Дог-шоу".
Is this the common term for "dog show" in Russian? Or is it only the name of the TV series?

Hello Isaac! It is a name of TV show about dogs and their owners. "Дог-шоу" is original name of this show, you can translate it as "Шоу собак". I guess the creators use the name "Дог-шоу" beacause it has some rhythm and sense of joy, happiness and game in pronouncement. And for sure here is some analogy with term "talk show".
