What does "clouds clearing past the moon" mean?
"I think she's just an amazing human being.
I've never seen anyone like her. She wears these sunglasses and when she takes them off,
her **eyes are like the clouds clearing past the moon.**"

I'm not sure about the meaning of the part marked in stars especially the role of "past". (Is it an adverb?)
Does the sentence imply that the clouds are moving past the moon? But then what exactly "clear past" means? clouds are moving and then cleared/shadowed the moon(so that the moon disappear from our sight)?
Thanks in advance.

This is very poetic language in my view.
Past is being used as a preposition.
Synonyms would be - behind, after or beyond.
I hope this helps.
