kein und nicht
"Er mag keinen Apfel" is correct.
But is "Er mag Apfel nicht " also correct?

You usually use 'kein' with nouns. Ich habe keine Birnen.
'Nicht' is used with verbs: Ich kann nicht schwimmen.
You could say: Er mag Äpfel nicht. Then you would use the 'nicht' for the verb.
Correction for the first sentence: Er mag keine Äpfel.
