Do you speak Runglish?) Hi everyone! All people who have started learn English language a little time ago very often make mistakes in pronunciation. We call jokingly this beginner's language the "Runglish", because many words are sounds like Russian sounds. A question is can a native speaker recognize Russian accent from other accents?

Most foreign accents are easily identifiable if a native speaker has had any previous experience with people from that country. An important clue is any sound from the first language that doesn't exist in English. The Russian R is not English-like, so speaking English with a Russian R is immediately noticeable. Other languages have similar clues. Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, French, Spanish, German, Polish, Russian accents are easily distinguished after ten words.

I can usually tell although sometimes confuse with Ukrainian or Polish. Russian sounds like English run backwards on reel to reel tape!
